You have been watching the calendar like a hawk and the much anticipated vacation date is around the corner. Your bags have been packed for the last week already and all that you need to do is to see through your final day before your vacation can commence. However before embarking on what undoubtedly will be a vacation that your great grandchildren will be envious of stop and ensure that you have all the safety precautions in place.

Travel Documents

It would be a good idea to have a photocopy of your Identity document along with copies of your traveller’s cheque numbers. Keep these separate from your original copies as they would come in handy if your bags are misplaced. As a side note, never pack valuable like cameras or laptops in with your luggage, try to fit these in with your carry on.

Safety first

Remember that you are going to a foreign land; always ask at your hotel if the area that you intend to explore is considered safe. Make a point to try and catch the news, in the event situations change. Always try to inform someone both local and abroad of your planned route and estimated return date/time.

Explore

While on safari in South Africa you have to explore the Kruger National Park. This park is famous the world over for its abundance of wildlife. Always enquire with your guide as to which animals are safest to photograph outside of the vehicle. Alternatively sign up for a foot safari where they will take you on a walk through the bush. In my opinion this is the best method to explore the Kruger Park.

Once you have double checked that you have covered all your bases and that your loved ones have a copy of your itinerary, then you are good to go. Let the extreme relaxation begin.
